WRIGHTSON, Alfred Claude. Sgt 19572 7th Btn Yorkshire Regiment.
Alfred Claude was born in Sexhow in 1896 to Thomas Wrightson aged 56, a farmer and his wife Eliza aged 41 living in Red House Farm, Sexhow which is recorded as having 7 rooms. Claude as he was known was the youngest of 8 and in 1901 the family consisted of Mabel Ann aged 22, John Robert Aged 20, Esther aged 19, Elizabeth 14, Ruth Jane 9, Dorothy aged 8 and Claude 4. Thomas Henry aged 17 had left home. In 1911 when he was 14 Claude is recorded in the census as being at school.
